All I Am

All I Am is a film about lovers and dancers.

Argentinian Marianela Nunez and Brazilian Thiago Soares are principle dancers at London’s Royal Opera House and lovers off stage.  A couple who have been captivating audiences for the last six years in memorable performances after Thiago proposed on bended knee one evening after curtain call.

All I Am is an intensely personal film, capturing Marianela and Thiago’s relationship from the moment of their vows on their wedding day, to starting a new life together on their return to the Royal Ballet in London as they prepare to dance in Romeo & Juliet.

Following two remarkable outsiders who left family and friends behind to pursue their dreams, but who have found one another and carved a place for themselves on the worlds greatest stage.

This is the story of their relationship and their love affair with dance. A story of discipline, of dedication, of frustration, of the quest for absolute perfection that is dancing at this world-class level, made possible with full access behind the scenes at the Royal Opera House.

The film is also invested with a rich seam of dreams and dance sequences, elegantly choreographed and woven into the documentary narrative. Giving us the opportunity to explore Marianela and Thiago’s most private hopes and fears - about family, about being so far from home, about their future.

Inspired by musicals like West Side Story or even a good episode of Glee, we want to make a film that is willfully beautiful and life-affirming, both real and wholly escapist.

We are very proud to be working with one of the UK's acclaimed choreographers of his generation -- Liam Scarlett, who has created six new works for Marinella and Thiago - which will be laced into the narrative when we shoot in real time and on location in London, Rio and Buenos Aires.

Music is also a fantastically important part of this project. The film will feature key sections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet as featured in rehearsals and the live show at the Royal Opera House. The rest of the score will be strongly contrasting, with key source tracks including Joan Armatrading, Hall & Oates and Tiga. As well as instrumental themes from Rome by Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi.

The film is currently in production,  still shooting and starting editing. That means we are also still fundraising.

If you can help us finish and launch the film, we'd love to hear from you.
